Fog Smoke and Snow
Either on stage or on film nothing sets the mood as easily as the use of fog or smoke.
Depending on how it is used, you can convey an atmosphere of mystery, suspense, fear, excitement, or serenity. Fog can also be used to conceal and then reveal objects. It can also be extremely helpful in training emergency response workers. The possibilities are nearly endless.
We utilize state of the art technology to produce spectacular fog effects. These effects are non toxic, Odorless and tasteless, non-allergenic, and in almost all cases, approved by the actors equity guild for use in live entertainment.
We are Dealers for the following fog products and fluids. Details about these products can be found by following the links below :
There are several types of fog products, each varying in the effect produced and the methods involved in creating them. Here are a few examples:
HAZE:
Haze is a very fine, long lasting particulate aerosol, usually oil or water based. It is designed to add atmosphere to a room. This is often desired during live entertainment as it allows beams of light and laser beams to be seen. Without haze a lighting plot would just be a collection of lighting instruments shining on a terminating surface. With haze, the air fills with colorful bands of light, and allows the motion of moving lights to be fully appreciated.
SMOKE:
Smoke is a dense white cloud of water based particles. The density and duration of its existence depend on the type of fluid used. Fluids are available that will produce dense clouds of smoke, capable of obscuring sight and lasting for long periods of time. On the other hand, fluids are available which are very quick dissipating. Some as little a few seconds. This can be used to simulate bursts of steam from a ruptured pipe.
We carry a full range of fog and smoke machines and control/ distribution accessories as well as fluids for sale. There are machines to fit nearly every application and budget.
Low Fog:
Low lying or ground fog, is a very popular effect in theater and film. It can covey the feeling of mystery or darkness such as in a graveyard or a swamp. Or it can be used to present an almost etherial atmosphere. And because it is heavy and hugs the ground it can be dropped from a height, creating a curtain of fog which can then be used to obscure and then reveal a new product or magical illusion.
Low fog can be produced using dry ice or by using cryogenic liquids. We can help you determine which method of low fog production is best suited for you event.
